If you need a Special Inspection by a Deputy Inspector for epoxy-installed bolts, epoxy-installed rebar dowels, concrete placement, or other inspection services for your construction project, you’ve come to the right place!
For epoxy installations, a Deputy Inspector must be present on your project to verify the hole depth and diameter, cleanliness of the hole, and the type of epoxy being used, including the batch number and expiration date.
However, except in certain situations, a Deputy Inspector is not required to be on-site while the holes are being drilled.
All inspections must comply with the approved plans and meet the requirements of the local Building and Safety Department.
A Deputy Inspector is required to be on-site for "continuous inspection" when concrete that is over 2500 p.s.i. is specified on the approved plans.
The inspection involves verifying that the correct concrete type / psi is delivered to the job, maintaining the “slump” of the concrete (how much water is allowed in that specific load of concrete), verifying that the reinforcement has the proper coverage and clearances, verifying that the concrete is thoroughly consolidated & making concrete samples.
Reinforcement Deputy Inspection ensures that all reinforcing steel (rebar) used in construction complies with approved plans, building codes, and industry standards. This inspection verifies proper size, spacing, placement, and securing of rebar before concrete is poured, ensuring structural integrity and safety. A certified deputy inspector conducts thorough checks to confirm compliance with design specifications, helping prevent structural failures and ensuring project success.
